In the last few days I have gotten few emails asking me what are some of the sites I would recommend for online storage. If you are a photographer, you know how crucial it is to store your images on online. This way you can access them in case if your computer crashes or some other natural disaster.
Although there are plenty of websites that offer online storage services but not all of them are user friendly. If you have been looking, then you know what I mean. Been there done that…lol.
My favorite 3 best online storage option are:

3. Dropbox.com – This let’s install software on your computer and creates a folder on your desktop. This way you can just drag and drop the files in that folder and then in the background it uploads the files to dropbox. You can also upload files from their website or from your smartphone. I have found that their upload speed is not all that great. Plus they only give you 2 GB for free.
2. Box.net – They let you upload files from their website. I really love their interface for uploading files. It’s super easy to use and the upload speed is fast. They also have smartphone app. They give you 5 GB for free.
1. Ajaxplorer.info – I call this an AWESOME Box because they give you the software that you can install on your own server (they tell you how to do that on their site). If you are a photographer like myself more than likely you will have your own site, you can create a subdomain (files.yoursitename.com) or a folder on your site (yoursitename.com/pictures) and then install the software. Being that it’s store on your server, you won’t have to worry about disk space. Why? Because most hosting company offer unlimited disk space. So, you can store your files up to 50 GB, 100 GB, 1000 GB or until the cows come home… Just kidding…You will never have to pay again.
On top of that, their software is so easy to use. Just check out the video below:
