Cristina – Model Photoshoot

Cristina definitely has a “SPECIAL” look that every photographer would love to capture!!! So, I was thrilled to photograph her. Unlike those other models that you see on TV that are so rude and just plain mean, Cristina was very polite and REALLY down to earth. She was like this innocent girl next door who just so happen to be a model. Lucky me or what???

Here are few of my favorite shots from her photoshoot:

Sneak Peek At Erica’s Baby Shower

What are two things every woman want? One is to have perfect wedding and look STUNNING in her dress. Of course, have the photographs to show other people (who couldn’t make it) how GORGEOUS she looked!!! Second, is to have a baby that she will love more than anything in life and she will do anything for that baby.

As you may have guessed it, what will she have just before her baby is born??? Oh…yeah… baby shower!!!  All of her friends and family will be there. And they will all bring a lot gifts!!! It will be like a Christmas. When you open up a present, your family is there to take your picture and capture the excitement on your face.

For my girl Erica, I will there to taking photographs of her opening the gifts! Christmas will be coming twice this year for Erica!!! Is that cool or what? :)

Christmas Family Portraits

I just love Christmas time. Decorating the tree and putting the presents under it. Seeing my name on the presents and wanting to open it. But I can’t!!!  :( Seeing the family members get together; whom I may not have seen for while. See how all the little kids have grown up. The ones who couldn’t talk last year, but this year they are talking up a storm. See how tall the other kids have gotten. How the family is growing slowly. The family getting together brings warmth to the heart, doesn’t it? You can feel the family love in the air!!!

I witness this kind of love when photographed “Angelucci” family Christmas portraits. They seemed very close and loving family. It was definitely my pleasure photographing them and the photographs turned out AWSOME!!!! Of course, when you have great personalities and smiles, my job becomes easy.  :)

Cherish – Portrait PhotoShoot

I bet you never seen the two personalities coexist with one another at such a young age. In one personality the person is shy and sweet. In another personality the person is wild and attitude pours right out of the person’s eyes. These personalities I often see in super models; where the models are asked to be shy and sweet for one shot and then for next shot the photographer wants the model to show attitude via eyes, body language or etc.

I would think it takes great talent and years of practice to learn how to do that but my girl “Cherish” seems to be natural at it. I think she could be next super model.

I must admit I didn’t anticipate this photo shoot to turn into a little fashion photo shoot but I am glad it. Because I got some amazing shots of new upcoming super model. Have a look:

Julie and Stella’s 20th Wedding Anniversary Portraits

I had the pleasure of taking photographs of a lovely couple (Julie and Stella) who has been happily married for 20 years!!! Their son and daughter in-law who lives in Atlanta, Georgia found me online and LOVED my photography style. They thought it would be perfect to give Julie and Stella portrait session with me as a gift for their wedding anniversary. I thought that was a great idea!!! I wouldn’t have thought of that.

Now that I think about it, it’s perfect for wedding anniversary because they can look back from their first wedding photograph to new one and say “look how far we have come. We had kids and grand kids and we are still madly in love.”

As I walked into their beautiful home, I saw a wall full of awesome portraits of their family. By the looks of those portraits, I could tell they were happy and loving family!!! Stella told me that she already knows where she will put their new portrait on the wall.

We talked for few minutes to get an idea of what they were looking for and then went towards their backyard (where they wanted to take pictures). Stella pointed out the spots where she wanted to take the photographs. I couldn’t agree more with her. Those spots gave them wonderful portraits.

Photos Are Full Of Memories – Relive Them AnyTime

Before I got into photography, I was just like everyone else: shy. I didn’t want my photograph taken. Then I realize that photographs are full of memories. The memories of the day the photographs are taken. With time everything will change but that photograph will freeze time. In just few seconds, I could go back and relive that day. As if I was a time traveler…I would love to travel back to the day my parents and I went to “Six Flags Great Adventure In New Jersey”. We had so much fun!!! My parents took few pictures of me and here they are:

Studio Portrait Vs. Onlocation Portrait – which is better?

I remember my first portrait shoot like it was yesterday. I setup my mobile portrait studio in my client’s house. I popped open my background stand and put on my black backdrop on it. Then I placed my two studio strobes in front of it; about 6 to 8 feet away from my back drop.

After my shoot, I went home and downloaded the pictures into my computer. As I went through the first 10 or 15 photographs, I saw that my client looked great with all the different portrait poses. After I went through 40 or so photographs, I realized pictures had the same black backdrop. Which was ok, but I wish I had taken few different back drops with me. That way I could have had different back drops and whole look and feel of the photograph would have changed drastically. But it was too late!!!

Few weeks later, I was asked to do a portrait shoot outside. At first, I didn’t know what to tell that person because I never shot portraits outside with natural light. I always thought portraits were suppose be taken inside; where I can control lighting and I get to pick what back drops I want. Outside, on the other hand, I get what I get. If it’s a sunny one minute and cloudy next, I would have to figure out quickly how to adjust for the lighting in my camera. If that wasn’t enough challenge, I had to figure out which location looked good for the portrait. On top of that, I ONLY had 25 minutes for whole portrait shoot. No pressure, right???

So, we got to the location and I found the perfect spot for the portrait. I started to shoot and as the luck would have it – the sun was going in and out. One minute it was sunny and another minute it was cloudy. I quickly adjust the settings to have perfect exposure. As I was shooting and talking (to make my client relax) to my client, I would just move two feet to right and I would get completely different background. If I moved another two feet, I would get another completely different background.

I thought this was pretty cool because if I shoot onlocation all the time, I would never have to worry about running out of backdrops or having same B-O-R-N-I-N-G backgrounds for all of my portraits. With onlocation portrait, one of my portrait’s could have beach as a background and another could have country setting to it. Or it could have city buildings, open road, cars, planes, and etc. My photographs will never have the same B-O-R-N-I-N-G black background!!! With onlocation portrait, sky is the limit.
